Every Baxter will now ship with version 1.1
The Baxter 1.1 software introduces Machine Sync Input/Output (I/O) Signaling and Sequencing functionality to Baxter's capabilities. This is a major enhancement which will enable tighter integration with customers' existing automation systems, and further increase the number of tasks the robot can perform. As always, this is a no-charge software upgrade for existing Baxter customers under warranty.

Your Choice of End Effectors
Rethink Robotics offers two interchangeable end-effectors that enable Baxter to work with a wide range of objects. Use one of each or two identical ones, whichever you prefer. The simple attachment method enables you to change end-effectors in minutes.
Electric Parallel Grippers enable Baxter to pick up a wide range of objects of varying sizes. They include:
Electric parallel grippers provide one degree of freedom with multiple grasp widths, deliver an actuation time of less than one second and allow Baxter to pick up from the outside or inside an object. |

Vacuum Cup Grippers can be used for more hard-to-grasp objects, inlcuding those that are smooth, non-porous or relatively flat. They include:
Vacuum cup grippers greatly reduce the risk of marring an object's finish, make it easy to pick flat objects off a stack and often allow you to expedite operations. They allow a maximum payload of up to five pounds, and must be connected to your external air supply line. |
